Drawing and Painting Courses
Small friendly groups of up to 9 students meeting in
the artist’s studio at Mangerton Mill in Dorset with lots
of one to one tuition in a safe, relaxed and enjoyable environment.
Spring and Autumn Courses
Beginners Classes
1. Watercolour course for beginners. 6 weekly 2-hour sessions.
2. Acrylic course for beginners. 6 weekly 2-hour sessions.
In these beginners classes you will learn about the
materials and how to use them. Master some of the basic skills.
Gain enough confidence to move on to my course for improvers.
Improver’s Classes
A 10-week per term Drawing and Painting course in water based
and mixed media. Various subjects and styles with individually designed
projects. Mixed abilities. There are 10-weekly 2½-hour sessions
per term with a variety of days and times to choose from.
The aim of this course is to increase each students
knowledge, skills and understanding of drawing and painting. This
will be achieved through sketchbook experimentation, talks, discussions,
demonstrations, practical exercises, studying other artists work,
personal student led programmes and group critiques which will take
place in a safe, relaxed and enjoyable environment.
August Summer School
This course consists of one 2½-hour session, weekly, for
four-week throughout August with a different programme each year,
with opportunities for working both inside and outside in the beautiful
ground of Mangerton Mill. There are a variety of days and times
to choose from.
A short, enjoyable course focusing in on a chosen theme
or the acquiring of or further developing certain specific skills
or knowledge.

Lecturing and Speaking
1. Demonstrations
Michael can provide interesting demonstrations for Art Groups throughout the UK and abroad
in a variety of media and subjects.
2. Teaching
the teaching programme covers most media and subject matter including life. Suitable for all
standards and mixed ability groups.
3. Workshops
These all day workshops are designed to teach painting and drawing skills from conception to completion.
4. Lecturing

5. Speaking: "My Life and Work as an Artist"
A humorous tale that is suitable for both artist and non-artist groups. Works well as an after-dinner speech.
